Common questions
How often should a Jaeger-LeCoultre be serviced?
As typical guidance, service on behaviour rather than schedule: drifting time, a shortened power reserve, or roughness in the winding are the signals worth acting on. The Reverso adds one JLC-specific check — the carriage should slide and lock cleanly, without play. The watchmaker's notes on each of our listings state running behaviour and any service outlook.
How do you authenticate a pre-owned Jaeger-LeCoultre?
Movement first. Jaeger-LeCoultre makes its own calibres, and the movement's construction, finishing, and serials are the clearest signature the brand has. Our watchmakers open every watch, verify the calibre against the reference, and inspect dial, case, and hallmarks before listing. The full process — the same for every brand we sell — is on our authentication page.
What should I look for in a pre-owned Reverso?
The case mechanism and the case itself. Check that the swivel action is smooth and the carriage locks without wobble, then look at the long polished flanks for dents and deep scratches, which are harder to correct on a rectangular case than on a round one. Dial condition matters too, particularly on older pieces. Our listings photograph and note all of it.
